Option 1: In-person, full course experience ($850)

Please note that the in-person option is for candidates preparing to attempt the exam at the 2025.2 sitting.

Option 2: Online, limited access course ($400)
- Dial-in access to hear out expert speakers
- Recordings of the talks, available until after the 2026.1 sitting
- Daily SAQ brainstorms—join in from home
- Access to chat forum with other candidates— questions will be fielded to speakers in real time
- Access to online materials including recordings, slides and trial exam questions, as well as materials to support the regional anaesthesia boot camp to study at home.
The online course is avaliable to any candidates, regardless of their planned sitting.

Are there recordings of the talks which I can access?
By popular demand, we will now be hosting recordings of the talks on our SharePoint page for all in-person and online candidates. The recordings will be available to access until after the 2026.1 sitting.
Who is this course for?
The full course experience is aimed at trainees sitting their ANZCA final exam in the 2025.2 sitting, and we will prioritise these candidates for the full course. Trainees working towards 2026.1 or later may attend online or contact us to enquire about a waiting list for the full course.
What's the refund policy?
For full course attendees who wish to withdraw, the following policy applies:
- Before 19th May 2025: Full refund
- Before 2nd June: 50% refund
- After 2nd June: No refund
Online tickets may claim a refund at any time prior to the start of the course.

Where is the course held?
The course will be held in the newly built teaching facilities at Westmead Hospital. We will provide detailed instructions about how to find the venue nearer the time for full course attendees. The online course will be hosted on Teams, and you can attend from wherever you like!
What can in-person candidates expect during the week?
Our programme is varied between lectures, workshops, trial examinations with feedback, and exercises to refine your exam technique. The week is fully interactive, fully catered, and fully focussed on helping you present your best performance on the day!
What can online candidates expect during the week?
Candidates who are dialled in to join the talks live are encouraged to engage with the speakers, ask questions and tackle the SAQ brainstorms together with the in-person candidates. They will also have the same access to slides and other resources for their study.

Overview
The Westmead Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine prides itself on delivering a high level of interactive education programs across a variety of specialties to staff of all levels of training including junior medical officers, registrars, fellows and consultants. The Westmead Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine offers regular fortnightly small group teaching sessions for ANZCA trainees preparing for the Part 1 Primary Exam.

Part 2 long course
The Westmead Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine offers a Part 2 Fellowship Exam long course that consists of regular fortnightly small group teaching sessions to trainees preparing for their fellowship exams. The program runs over an 18 month period and is an extremely exam focused teaching program covering relevant topics tailored to the ANZCA Curriculum. In addition to the regular fortnightly teaching sessions, there are SAQ practice session, medical viva practice sessions and anaesthetic viva practice sessions available for the trainees.

Regional Anaesthesia Teaching
The regional anaesthesia special interest group offer regular departmental hands on regional anaesthesia training covering all major limb and truncal blocks. They also offer a one day regional anaesthesia practical course with real time scanning practice and troubleshooting advice.

Registrar Airway Development Day
The RADD course is a one day airway education day targeted at ANZCA registrars focusing on the development of both technical and non-technical skill involved in the anticipated difficult airways in both the out of hours and out of theatre working environments. It is an interactive hands on day with a mixture of skill stations, PBLs and simulation sessions.

Transthoracic Echo, Lung US and CVC Training
The Westmead Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine offers regular theoretical and practical transthoracic echo and lung ultrasound teaching sessions by one of the specialist cardiac anaesthetists. These sessions utilize a case based discussion method of teaching and have interactive sessions. In addition to this there is a CVC accreditation and training sessions offered to all trainees.

Trauma Education Day
The TED Course is a one day trauma education day targeted at ANZCA registrars focusing on trauma anaesthesia and the management of complex trauma patients. It is an extremely interactive course involving interactive skills stations, PBLs and simulation sessions on both the technical and non-technical management of complex trauma patients.
